BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

high

Breeding conditions:

According to visual records voles had high numbers at the coast and in inland areas of the eastern Murman, where Buzzards and Snowy Owls were also recorded. Waders nested quite successfully in typical numbers. Their spring migration was delayed by 6 days in Ruff and 11 days in Golden Plover relative to average dates. In contrast, fall migration of many species started earlier than usual - 24 days in Red-necked Phalarope, and 5 days in Ruff.
